   ### **Plugin Updates & Decisions**

   * “View Events” now defaults to All (filters still available). Change avoids cloned events disappearing.
   * Team will follow core WordPress admin patterns; avoid custom styling that could break on WP updates.
   * 0.34.0 alpha 1 released; fixed past-events sort (now descending).
   * Settings API refactor (alpha 2): single gather\_press\_settings option (flat array) with setters/getters for extension.mpanion plugins

   ### **Geocoding / Type-ahead (Jeff’s ticket)**

   * Good progress on address type-ahead with geocoding; aiming to finish this weekend
   * Existing geocoding endpoint (lat/long for maps) won’t work for type-ahead — new endpoint needed
   * Venue inputs exist in two places (content block \+ sidebar) intentionally; they share state
   * Will keep both for now; Jeff to get to a certain point and share for review

   ### **.org Integration Meeting**

   * Meeting set for Tuesday 7 PM ET (Wednesday morning for the Australia contact, Dion)

   * Pathways index page live in the handbook (plain markdown for now)
   * Velda advocating for a dedicated GatherPress team mentor — someone to field student questions without pulling core team away
   * One speaker offered to do developer-focused office hours / mentorship if time allows
   * Interested in joining as official GatherPress mentor; wants to assess time commitment first
   * Patterns student hasn’t followed up; suggestion to invite them to the GatherPress Slack
   * Design student needed for block patterns work
   * Proposal: 1-hour call with Velda \+ patterns student to align on direction (referencing Luma, Meetup, Eventbrite as inspiration)
   * gatherpress-awesome template repo exists as a starter plugin for extending GatherPress
   * Slightly out of date — good contribution opportunity for students

   ### **WordCamp Boston (April 27\)**

   * Good opportunity for GatherPress visibility and in-person sync, for those who can come. Coordinate whether anyone is arriving early

   ### **Alpha Testing Note (John)**

   * Uploading alpha one alongside an existing install: regular plugin correctly flagged duplicate; alpha plugin did not
   * Workaround: delete old plugins before uploading new files
   * Migration worked correctly once duplicates were removed
